pidgin-latex software package provides Pidgin plugin to display LaTeX formulas, you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install pidgin-latex
pidgin-latex is installed in your system.
Make ensure the pidgin-latex package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep pidgin-latex *
You will get with pidgin-latex package name, version, architecture and description in a table
